CANCER RAMBLINGS

A BOOK WRITTEN THROUGH CHEMO. A LIFE BEYOND IT.

DEBUT BOOK

A Poetically Packed Punch to the Face of Cancer

My journey began in the stark fluorescent lights of a hospital room, where I sat stunned, grappling with the weight of a phrase that shattered my reality: “You have cancer.”

In those initial moments of disbelief, I found myself spiraling into a whirlwind of questions. “Why me?” quickly morphed into a more potent query: “Why not?” It was a shift from victimhood to empowerment.

As I paced the sterile corridors, my “chemo-friend” on wheels beside me, I felt thoughts and emotions bubbling to the surface, begging to be expressed. In that vulnerability, I discovered a powerful release. My experiences poured out in raw, poetic verses—a cathartic self-help memoir born from pain, yet illuminated by the flickering lights of hope.

This book was written during my six rounds of chemotherapy, an experience that profoundly shaped its content. Writing through such a challenging time gave the work a unique, organic quality, and I hope it resonates deeply with you.

This collection of ramblings is not just my story; it is a testament to the strength that can emerge from darkness. Each line is an invitation to those facing similar battles and to their loved ones navigating the turbulent waters of illness alongside them.

I hope to ignite courage and resilience, to show that even in the face of pain, purpose can be found. It can be a transformative force, guiding us toward a more profound understanding of ourselves and our capacity to endure.

Join me on this journey as we confront the harsh realities of cancer with a poet’s heart and a fighter’s spirit.

Amy Powers, Recovering Lawyer, Best-Selling Author, and Health & Wellness Entrepreneur:

“If you’ve picked up this book, it’s likely because someone you care about has been diagnosed with cancer. Maybe that person is even you.

You’re in the right place. And dare I say, divinely guided. This book offers a powerful template of choices that can be made in the face of a devastating diagnosis: to control what you can, surrender to what you can’t, submit to what you must, and not only maintain some semblance of sanity, but create true spiritual growth in the process.”
