PROJECT: LOVE
MULTI-WELLNESS MODALITIES & IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES.
SOUND BORN IN CHEMO.
YOGA DEEPENED IN THE DARK.
My sound healing practice was born during chemotherapy while I was navigating stage 4 cancer. During treatment, vibration, breath, yoga, and meditation became powerful tools for calming my body and mind. Today, I share transformational sound baths, yoga, and meditation designed to support deep relaxation, nervous system healing, and emotional resilience. My work is rooted in LOVE and blends lived experience with years of wellness practice to create sound and wellness journeys that help people reconnect with their bodies, release stress, and access profound states of peace.
LOVE LOVE LOVE, THEN LOVE SOME MORE...
Project Love:
The book was born in chemo — raw, honest, unfolding in real time.
Project Love is what grew from it.
It thrives even deeper now — shaped by survival, rooted in love, and strengthened by the experience of marrying holistic practice with lived healing.
What I teach now is what I lived then:
Simple practices.
Intentional living.
Strength through love.
This is about helping build a more present, peaceful world — one heart at a time.
Project Love is born from a genuine need—a need to live in love within our own lives and extend that love outward, in service to others, to make the world a little better. Life is an intricate web of interconnected pieces: what you eat, what you believe, what you see, and what you do. It all comes together.
My passion for multi-wellness modalities—like YOGA, sound bathing, breathwork, meditation and retreats—began long before my cancer journey. These practices have always shaped my life, helping me nurture my body, mind, and spirit. They influence everything I do, from the food I nourish my body with, to the skincare products I choose, and the people I surround myself with. Wellness is a lifestyle—a commitment to balance, healing, and love in every area of life.
my offerings, whether one-on-one private sessions, class sessions or weekend retreats, are designed to offer transformative experiences to help you heal and find balance on all levels—physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I guide people through restorative practices like sound bathing, yoga, and meditation, creating a space to pause, recharge, and reconnect. Whether you’re new to these practices or a seasoned yogi, these offerings provide empowerment, renewal, and deep healing for everyone.
How full is your spiritual bank? It’s important to check in, examine your life, and implement small shifts that can lead to big changes. We are in this together—on a journey of wellness and wholeness.
I love sharing the tools that have worked for me, especially after facing the face of cancer, I’m passionate about supporting others on their journeys.
Whatever you can do to support your well-being—whether it’s joining a retreat, exploring wellness programs, or simply making mindful changes—do it. Your body, mind, and soul will thank you.
Book a retreat, explore MY corporate wellness programs, inquire about the various studios I teach at or about private services for yourself or a loved one.
Keep going.
Keep doing.
And most of all,
keep loving.

I wanted to share a special highlight from today that brought so much calm, joy, and wonder to our learning community at CDC-TTC. Thank you for your generosity that allowed our children and educators had the opportunity to participate in a sound bath today. Preschool children from 3 classrooms gathered together for this unique experience, and it was truly heartwarming to witness. From the moment the session began, the room felt different. The children settled in, listened attentively, and embraced the peaceful atmosphere. One child fell asleep almost immediately, and many others appeared deeply relaxed and completely at ease. Watching them experience a sense of calm and stillness was a beautiful reminder of how important it is to create opportunities that support their emotional well-being. I am incredibly grateful to Sandy for sharing her gifts with us.

I wanted a short and sweet break from being the caregiver to being one who receives. Sandy showed her commitment in making sure my intentions were met. Her care, warmth, and intentionality were present in every little detail, from the space she created, to the delicious and beautifully-presented meals she cooked, to the gift bag that welcomed my arrival. Her love shined from the text communications prior to the retreat, to our first meeting at the house, and down to the last high-five as we tackled a problem together. I left feeling cared for, grateful, and renewed. I liked how Sandy clearly stated her itinerary. I had a accurate understanding of what I'll be experiencing, giving me the best chance to make the best choice for me.

The three days I spent in Sandy’s presence were not only life-changing, but left an imprint on my heart that will have a ripple effect for years to come. As someone who struggles with C-PTSD and generalized anxiety, the biggest factor in any environment is safety. Sandy not only created a sense of safety, she created an environment that felt like home, the kind of home where your inner child can thrive, rest, and receive. From the meals she prepared to the thoughtfully designed schedule, yoga flows, sound baths, and the freedom she gave us to listen to our own bodies and trust when we needed something different, Sandy was incredibly accommodating. Her love and passion for helping others find wellness were present in every detail, from the food she served to the music she played. I'm someone who tracks health data using an Oura Ring, and during my time with Sandy, my nervous system felt safe and supported enough to truly settle into a parasympathetic state. That alone is a gift beyond words. "Thank you" somehow doesn't seem sufficient for the weekend I experienced in the desert. Sandy, you are truly magic. The work you're doing is changing lives, and I feel so grateful to have experienced it firsthand.

Sandy, thank you so much for being part of the event and for sharing your work with our campus community. I had the opportunity to attend the sound bath, and it was truly a much-needed experience - I think I fell asleep! Going into the session, I was carrying the usual pace and stress of a busy workday. Afterward, I felt noticeably more calm, centered, and rejuvenated. That sense of calm and renewal is such an important feeling to experience in our place of work, and I really appreciated the space you created for that. I also want to share that I heard great feedback from our team! Thank you again for the care and intention you bring to your work. It made a meaningful impact. Warmly, Claudia

I had an incredible experience at FLORA + BLAST! This was my first visit as a guest of a friend, and we took Sandy's yin and sound class. I was so impressed by Sandy's sound healing skills—she kept the sounds going smoothly for nearly the entire hour, which I know requires a lot of wrist strength and mobility. The beautiful sounds she created brought me to a deep state of blissful serenity. I left the studio feeling renewed, welcomed, and grateful. I only wish I lived closer so I could come more often! Highly recommend Sandy’s yin and sound class to everyone.

Such a beautiful, relaxing experience. The class felt like a deep exhale - exactly what I needed. The teacher is a true light: calm, grounding, and radiant in her energy. She holds space in such a gentle, powerful way that makes it easy to drop in and just be. I left feeling renewed, peaceful, and more in tune with myself. I'll be coming back every Sunday without a doubt.

When I first took Sandy’s class, I was expecting a gentle, restorative yoga session—but what I experienced went far beyond that. The magical sound journey she creates with live music, bowls, and ancient instruments brought a deeply healing and calming energy I didn’t expect. I had a difficult day—I’m currently waiting for hip surgery and dealing with muscle inflammation, which makes it hard to focus on my work and creative projects. But this class helped me release tension in my body and bring clarity to my mind. Sandy’s music and presence helped shift my energy completely. In fact, during class, I found a solution to a project I had been stuck on for days. Sandy has such a grounding and nurturing energy—I’m a big fan of this class and highly recommend it to anyone looking for both physical relief and emotional restoration.

Dear Sandy, Thank you so much for such a wonderful, relaxing, and insightful sound bath session today for our Child Development teams. It was truly a fantastic way to kick off our in-service training day with mindfulness, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. I even overheard staff members eagerly discussing how they’re going to arrange classroom coverage so they can attend your sessions at TTC on 3/20 and 5/15—such a testament to the impact of your work! We deeply appreciate your talents, skills, and the calming experience you provided. Thank you again for sharing your gift with us! Best, Stacey

Sandy, I really loved your class. I felt so in tune with my body. Being able to relax in an uncomfortable position showed me how capable that my body is. It felt so healing to be able to spend prolonged periods in a singular pose, and it is something I want to do again. This, combined with the sound bathing is something I really enjoyed. I love sound baths, and combining this with Yin Yoga was perfect for me. Thank you so much for sharing your practice and kind energy!

Sandy, I really enjoyed your class and appreciated you answering my question about the waterfall pose and melting into a pose. I appreciated having the opportunity to fully relax into the poses and to have time to loosen the muscles in order to feel a deep stretch. The sound bowls were also very relaxing and felt like they were coming from within my head, which was a very unique experience. Thank you for offering a lesson today!

Sandy, I really enjoyed your class. It was very different than vinyasa yoga, but I enjoyed staying in each pose for a long time and meditating there in the poses. I really enjoyed learning about Yin yoga. Thank you for your time.

Hi Sandy, Thank you so much for coming to our class and giving us an amazing Yin Yoga session. I loved how my body was receiving the sound vibrations and the comfort/clarity I had when I was done. Hey Sandy Girrrllaa, I just wanted to let you know how much I really enjoyed your class and your energy. You are such an inspiration, and I’m so happy and proud of how far you’ve come. Beating cancer takes an incredible amount of strength and resilience, and you embody both of those qualities. I wish you nothing but the best on your journey, and I hope that blessings continue to come your way. Your energy is so vibrant, and as a spiritual person, I can feel how genuine and loving you are. Thank you for helping me open up my mind and become more aware of things I can work on to improve myself. I’ve come so far, and your support has been so valuable. Your calming voice and loving presence were exactly what I needed when intrusive thoughts took over. It really helped me get through those moments. After dealing with so much this past year, just seeing how much you’ve overcome has given me the mindset and strength to believe that I can overcome challenges too. I really struggle mentally at times, and even now, I’m typing through tears, but having faith in myself is something I’m learning. I just pray that I can be as thriving and beautiful as you are. Keep going because you are truly helping so many people, just like you helped me. I know I have so much to work on, and you’ve reminded me that patience with myself is key. I really hope to see you again or learn from you in the future. Sending you much love

I recently had the pleasure of attending yoga classes with Sandy Duarte which left me transformed, and I am compelled to share my experience. The class was a haven of serenity and self-discovery, led by an exceptional instructor who skillfully created an environment of tranquillity and warmth. From the moment I stepped into the studio, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of peacefulness. Soft lighting, soothing music, and gentle aromas immediately set the tone for what would be an extraordinary journey. Sandy with her gentle demeanor and profound understanding of yoga, guided us through each pose with a perfect blend of encouragement and patience. Her words seemed to flow effortlessly, like a gentle stream of wisdom, leading us through a sequence that not only challenged our bodies but also nurtured our minds. I found myself pushing my limits while simultaneously embracing the stillness within. By the end of the class, a profound sense of calm had settled over me. It was as though I had shed layers of stress and worry owing to the hustle and bustle of daily life. The feeling of centeredness and clarity was unlike anything I had experienced before. Looking back, I can confidently say that this yoga class has been a life-changing experience. The combination of the peaceful environment, the expert guidance of the teacher, and the transformative nature of the practice itself have left an indelible mark on my journey of self-discovery and well-being.

Thank you, Sandy, for creating a grounding experience during class. I really enjoyed the yoga practice and the sound bowl meditation. Holding the poses for several minutes was challenging at first, but it also made me feel more present and aware of my body and breathing. The sound bowls created a really peaceful atmosphere that helped me relax mentally, especially during a stressful week. I appreciated having a space where we could slow down and reconnect with ourselves for a moment. Thank you for bringing that experience into class.

Dear Sandy, Thank you so much for leading our class through the Yin Yoga Sound Bath session. It was my first time experiencing this type of practice, and I really enjoyed it. I especially appreciated how you explained that enduring the discomfort of holding a pose for several minutes made the release feel even more rewarding. I was also really interested in learning about how this practice works with the fascia. Despite feeling so tight in the moment of holding the poses, later in the day I felt much more limber. Thank you again!
Charlie Butler, UCLA Los Angeles

Hello Sandy! I wanted to thank you for narrating us through the yoga experience! You are definitely my favorite instructor for yoga/meditation that I have ever had. I remember doing the rainbow arch pose and something came over me where I started crying and I just wouldn’t/couldn’t stop crying(yes, I was the student who mentioned they cried). And it was tears of like gratefulness because I couldn’t stop thinking about how beautiful the universe is, and how different everything in it is, and human beings. and how lucky I am to experience all of this life. I don’t know, it was very strange, but also incredibly eye-opening. And I realized for the first time in a long time since I was a toddler: That I actually loved people. I usually have a lot of social anxiety and assume people think the worst of me so I am hesitant about them before I even meet someone. But its like all of those moments of betrayal, judgment, and codependency in my relationships were moved to the side and I could see the kid at the center who simply just wanted to love; who went up to strangers and asked them to be their friend; who laughed when people laughed and cried when they cried. So I thank you for that, for helping me reconnect with my inner authentic self again. :) I wish you the best in your endeavors! -All the love

Hello Sandy, your class was overall an amazing experience that I truly enjoyed! It was something new for me but you did an amazing job at creating such a welcoming environment and overall, the energy in the class was so great that I was really able focus on the practice and let go of any self judgements I might have or concerns of how I was being perceived. It felt great to be able to really listen to my body and do what felt like I needed most. I felt very energized afterwards and it was a great way to start my week! Thank you so much for the great experience! Best wishes

Hi Sandy! It was a pleasure having you lead us in yoga and sound healing this past class. If I am being completely honest, I have been looking forward to this sound bath since I read it in the syllabus. Last quarter, this cluster had the chance to experience a sound bath, and I really enjoyed it, experiencing tension and stress in my body just released, which is why I was looking afterward experiencing something like that again! The incorporation of holding yoga poses made the experiences so unforgettable. I felt a deep relaxation throughout my whole body and mind! Thank you again for an incredible experience and for your guidance in sound healing! Best

Hey Sandy, Thank you so much for taking time out of your week to come and instruct our class! I really enjoyed all of the different sounds that you had incorporated and it felt really relaxing to just sit with my own thoughts while also letting go of all my thoughts to focus on the sound bowls. I really like what you practice and it was one of my favorite experiences in this class so far!

Hi Sandy, Thank you for visiting our yoga class and showing us a really different yet impactful way to practice. Until your class, we were very focused on the asanas, and I learned a lot from your instruction about sound, breathing, and the importance of taking your time. I especially enjoyed all the sounds from the bowls. Best
Cate, UCLA Los Angeles
-
Dear Sandy, Thank you so much for leading us through the class. One of my favorite parts, was whenever we would exhale, you would always add a sound. Whether it was a sound from one of the bowls, or the rain drum, it really helped me to stay present and distracted form my mind. I also really appreciated your time at the end to explain the complications of fascia to me. It makes sense; it is a history of your whole body! Best.
Gavin Lepler, UCLA Los Angeles
-
Hi Sandy!! Thank you so much for taking your time to come and introduce/practice yin yoga. This session would probably have to be one of my favorite ones so far. I enjoyed myself so much that I found myself incorporating some of the poses and extensive holding throughout my day in between little pockets of breaks. During the session itself, I felt this sense of calmness and relaxation ease into me that felt different from the normal use I usually tend to relax. It allowed me to have more clarity and it streamlined a lot of my thoughts instead of having them all occur at the same time outside of my grasp, I was able to control them (to an extent) and genuinely hear myself think. After the session, I found myself to be a lot calmer in the ways I handled things and didn’t get too overwhelmed despite having a lot of work. I found your story to be extremely inspiring and I’m super grateful for the chance to be taught by you :) All the best
Naomi, UCLA Los Angeles

Hello Sandy, Thank you so much for sharing your journey in yoga and for guiding us through the Yin Yoga and sound healing session. It was my first time trying Yin Yoga, and I truly enjoyed the experience. Dear Sandy, I want to start this note off by saying I am truly touched by your story, and more importantly, I am inspired by your bravery and unwavering perseverance. Using Yoga and the practices of balancing one’s mind and body, even through great adversity, truly showcased the impactful nature of the practices and further encouraged me to incorporate it into my own life. When it comes to your class, I am lost for words, somehow through the incorporation of roaming sounds, such as waves moving throughout the class, and nature buzzing, I felt transported to another world. As my mind lay there focused on my breaths and the noises of the world seemingly melted away replaced by a feeling of being free among nature. I wanted to thank you for this experience especially during midterm season when stress is high. It was incredibly helpful and allowed me to move forward a little lighter on my feet. I appreciate your time visiting our class and wish you luck on your future endeavours spreading these practices.
Eli Reisner, UCLA Los Angeles

Hello Sandy, Thank you so much for taking the time to come out to UCLA and guide us through the yoga with the sound bath this week. I love hearing the different sounds that you were creating in the room and I really enjoyed falling into my positions. I was able to let go of my thoughts for that hour and a half, which gave me a great start to the week. I appreciated you being open to tell us your journey and how you got to this amazing point of guiding sound bath meditation and yoga!

Hi Sandy, I just wanted to take the time to say thank you for the stellar class! Your story is so inspiring and it is really funny because it is pretty much the exact same story that my mom went through. She had the same deal where she practiced yoga and then developed stage 4 cancer and then by using yoga and a strong mindset she was able to overcome it just like you. It goes to show the power of yoga so I’m thankful for you sharing your story with us. I’ve never tried that type of yoga before but I really enjoyed it even thought I was pretty sore after. Thank you for leading such an amazing class! Sincerely
Cole Shotz, UCLA Los Angeles

Hi Sandy, Thank you for taking the time out of your day to share your Yin Yoga practice. Even though some of the poses felt uncomfortable at times, I notice that the experience ultimately felt very grounding. After class, I felt noticeably taller and more open, which was really cool to experience and felt amazing. I also appreciated hearing your personal story and your cancer journey and how yoga was your anchor through it. Thank you again for your openness and for sharing such a meaningful practice. Best
